The upper brake shoe spring, part no. 4-119, for the BMW Isetta rear axle ensures that the brake shoes retract and maintains the necessary clearance from the brake drum. During a restoration, worn-out or corroded springs should be systematically replaced to prevent brake drag and uneven braking performance on the Isetta.
