The transmission oil with part number 2-999500 is formulated according to the manufacturer’s specifications for BMW Isetta transmissions and rear axles and ensures proper lubrication of gears, bearings, and shafts. During restoration, after overhauling the transmission and chain drive, the system should be refilled with the specified amounts (0.55 L in the transmission, 0.25 L in the chain drive) to minimize wear and corrosion. Regular oil changes are particularly important for classic cars that are rarely driven, as aging and condensation can impair the lubricating effect.
