The piston ring with a 0.5 mm oversize (Part No. 1-051) is used in the BMW Isetta engine to seal the combustion chamber and transfer heat from the piston to the cylinder wall. It is specifically designed for reconditioned cylinders with a slightly enlarged diameter and restores compression and oil control. When restoring the engine, the ring groove and cylinder bore should be carefully cleaned, and the ring end-play should be precisely checked.
