This reconditioned crankcase (Part No. 1-0011) for the BMW Isetta Export has been cleaned, glass bead blasted, and equipped with tested bearing seats and threads, making it an excellent foundation for rebuilding a 250- or 300-cc engine. By using the crankcase code (40 for 250 cc, 41 or no number for 300 cc) and replacing the bearing shell, the crankcase can be flexibly used for both engine displacements. Expert inspection largely rules out typical restoration problems such as cracks, warped sealing surfaces, or damaged threads, which increases the reliability of the fully rebuilt Isetta engine.
