The galvanized spring 6-0546 is a component of the BMW Isetta door shock absorber and supports the weight of the front door by elastically cushioning the opening and closing motion. During restoration, the used spring should be inspected for corrosion, signs of sagging, and possible cracks, as a weakened spring leads to poor door operation and increased wear on the shock absorber system. Only a mechanically sound spring ensures the original function of the door shock absorber.
