Der obere, bewegliche Scharnierarm (Art.-Nr. 6-049) übernimmt an der BMW Isetta die kraftschlüssige Verbindung zwischen Karosserie und Fronttür und führt deren Schwenkbewegung. Für eine fachgerechte Restauration sollten verbogene oder ausgeschlagene Scharnierarme ersetzt und in Kombination mit neuen Bolzen montiert werden, um korrekte Spaltmaße und eine leichtgängige Türfunktion sicherzustellen.
