The steering column 3-127 for the export Isetta with a two-spoke steering wheel transmits the rotational movement of the steering wheel to the front axle steering gear and provides the mechanical guidance for the steering wheel inside the vehicle. Since this is a used, unrepaired part, during restoration all threads should be recut as needed, bearing and mating surfaces should be checked for wear, and the surface should be permanently protected against corrosion by galvanizing, painting, or chrome plating. This reliably restores the original steering precision and appearance of the BMW Isetta.
