This soft copper cylinder head gasket (B7-01-042) for 4-hole cylinders in the BMW 700 engine reliably seals the joint between the cylinder head and engine block against combustion pressure, oil, and coolant. The soft copper material conforms well to the sealing surfaces, making it ideal for restored engines with machined heads or blocks. As part of an engine overhaul, the old head gasket should always be replaced, and the new sealing surfaces should be carefully cleaned and checked for flatness.
