The BOSCH centrifugal governor B6-08-0045 (BMW No. 12118003700) is designed for the BMW 700 with a 40 hp engine and controls the speed-dependent adjustment of the ignition timing. When restoring a BMW 700, worn or sluggish centrifugal regulators should be replaced, as they are often responsible for knocking, rough idling, and loss of power. The regulator is calibrated to the characteristic curve of the 40-hp engine and must be combined with a precise ignition timing after installation.
