Aufgrund der starken Gebrauchsspuren empfiehlt sich im Rahmen einer Restauration das Richten, Aufarbeiten und gegebenenfalls Neuverchromen, bevor die Leiste auf einen sorgfältig vorbereiteten Untergrund montiert wird.
