The breaker plate B6-08-00472 with bolt forms the mounting base for the breaker contact and its adjustment mechanism in the ignition distributor of the BMW 600 Electrics. During a restoration, warped, corroded, or worn-out breaker plates should be replaced, as they lead to fluctuating contact gap and rough engine running. With the new plate and correctly installed breaker contacts, the ignition timing can be set precisely and remain stable over the long term.
