This rear left brake shoe (Part No. B6-04-1435) for the BMW 600 forms the supporting body for the brake lining and transmits the braking force to the drum. For a reliable restoration, the spherical and rectangular contact surfaces, the pressure plate, and all bearing and contact points should be inspected for wear, distortion, and corrosion, and the lining should be replaced. The glass bead-blasted surface provides a good base for further repair work such as priming and preservation.
