The 75.0 mm piston ring set, 2nd oversize (Part No. B6-01-0745), is used in the BMW 600 engine to restore the combustion chamber seal in cylinders that have been honed or bored to oversize. During an engine overhaul, it replaces worn original rings, improves compression and oil consumption, and is particularly important if the cylinder has already been machined to the 2nd oversize. Careful inspection of the cylinder diameter and ring end-play is essential for long-lasting and proper restoration performance.
