The fog lamp, part no. 7-9009, is a high-gloss chrome-plated surface-mounted lamp with yellow glass from the 1950s to 1960s and is used to improve visibility in fog and bad weather on the BMW Isetta. During restoration, it often replaces corroded or non-functional auxiliary headlights and should be installed with a clean ground connection and vibration-free mounting to ensure reliable operation within the historic electrical system.
