The 18-mm side steering knuckle 3-1241 on the BMW Isetta front axle provides the articulated connection between the steering and linkage components and the chassis parts to be controlled. During restoration, bores and bolt seats should be checked for play, wear, and corrosion, as worn-out steering knuckles can significantly impair steering performance. The yellow-zinc-plated surface provides corrosion protection but does not replace a careful mechanical inspection and, if necessary, the replacement of fasteners.
